Oblada, Anna Horsnell Wade, 2011 The Craig Gallery at Alderney Landing is wonderfully supportive of the local artist community. And so, what better time for the artists to show their thanks than the holiday season. "Small Wonders" is a fundraising exhibit in support of The Craig Gallery and many small artpieces have been donated. Each will be priced at just 100! Small but mighty work by many familiar artists such as Dawn McNutt, Kay Stanfield, Rose Adams, myself and more. Opening reception Thur, Dec 1st at 7:00pm and continuing until Dec 21. Everyone welcome!

Salsa, Anna Horsnell Wade, 2011 Halifax's Hydrostone area is a unique little oasis within the city and a trending shopping and dining area during the Holidays. Don't miss the Hydrostone Gallery's Annual Group Exhibit with work from each of the gallery artists on exhibit until January 2012. I'm happy to have four of my most recent paintings included in this great show. Take in the exhibit, visit the bakery, enjoy a great meal and shop to your heart's content, all in a festive Holiday setting. 'Tis the Season. The Art of Jazz series has come full circle. While researching all things jazz last year, I was happily able to attend a workshop with the renown Jerry Granelli and his son at 1313 Hollis Street. Later I attended a great jazz film presentation, "Icons Among Us" ... once again at 1313 Hollis Street. So I couldn't be happier to present a two week "encore" exhibit of my jazz-inspired paintings at this wonderful location in downtown Halifax. 1313 Hollis is the home for creative music in Halifax, providing intimate concert and workshop experiences. In December, everyone is invited to visit Wed through Sat, from 10am to 3pm each week, or by appointment by calling me at 465-4965. Oblada, A Horsnell Wade, 2011 The wind has definitely shifted with the chill of oncoming winter. Nice to be in the studio creating new work. My paintings will be featured in several new exhibits coming up later this month. Will post details and opening dates when available. In the meantime, I've added several new paintings to the online gallery. I notice subtle changes in my work this season and that is a wonderful part of this process - enjoying the very act of creating new work, exploring and moving through the evolution of growth. As always, your comments are welcome at any time. |
