The annual Mosaic for Mental Health art exhibition and sale is a fun and important event in support of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Halifax-Dartmouth Branch. This is a great opportunity to sample a wide range of art from many local artists and if past events are any indication - come early! - they go fast! Meet many of the artists and support a cause that touches so many. Opening tonight, October 14th from 7pm until 9pm at the Craig Gallery at Alderney Landing in Dartmouth. Advance showing at 6pm. "Hope I" is one of three tiles I painted for this year's Mosaic for Mental Health Event. Each artist creates their work on a standard size tile and the variety is wonderful to see.

Paintings purchased through the 2010 NS Art Bank purchase program will be on display during Halifax's Nocturne: Art at Night celebrations Saturday, October 16. My painting entitled "Challenge" will be one of 35 selected works on display at the Johnson Building, 1683 Barrington Street in downtown Halifax. Nocturne is a terrific evening to celebrate the arts and I encourage everyone to take in as many locations as possible. Recently I had the opportunity to meet eight other members of the Society of Canadian Artists, all from the Maritime Provinces, for a wonderful lunch at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. |
