The countdown is on for the opening of my new solo exhibit, The Art of Jazz! The theme for this show of new abstract paintings isn't as much a new idea as it is a tribute to the music that has kept me company and fuelled my inspiration over the years. Jazz, in all its shapes and sizes, fills me with passion and energy, and yes, I have been known to dance and sing along with paintbrush in hand. I'll be making weekly entries here to mark my progress in preparation for the show opening at The Craig Gallery on Wednesday, June 29th.
In the words of jazz singer Nina Simone, "Jazz is not just music, it's a way of life, it's a way of being, a way of thinking." Stay tuned!
